Dr Rob Weaver is a senior aviation professional with over 25 years of operational, regulatory and strategic experience across air traffic management, safety assurance and advanced air mobility. He brings a rare combination of executive leadership in Air Navigation Services and deep expertise in the future of flight.
As former Executive General Manager at Airservices Australia, Rob led safety, environment and assurance for Australian Air Traffic Control and Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting — one of the world's most complex operational aviation environments. Before that, he held safety management roles at NATS in the UK, one of the world's largest ANSPs.
For over seven years at Embraer & Eve Air Mobility, Rob was a global leader in the AAM sector, driving safety and operations strategy for urban air traffic management, business & ecosystem development, eVTOL integration and regulatory engagement across Australia, the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
He holds a PhD in Safety-Critical Computer Systems and a Masters of Engineering in Computer Systems and Software Engineering, both from the University of York, UK.
Rob is a Board Director of the Australian Association for Unmanned Systems (AAUS) and advises CASA through its Aviation Safety Advisory Panel Technical Working Groups covering AAM, drones, vertiports and future airspace.
He is a former member of ANSP, regulator and government policy AAM advisory groups in Australia, UK and Europe. He was Chair of the CANSO Asia Pacific Safety Workgroup and former member of the CANSO Global Safety Steering Committee.
